Jonas Schütte was born in Constance on Lake Constance in 1983. He spent his youth in Ravensburg, where he got to know and love the theatre through Ingrid Lausund (Der Tatortreiniger), who directed three projects.
From 2005-2009 he studied acting at the HfS ‘Ernst Busch’ in Berlin.
There he worked with his mentor Ulrich Engelmann, Veith Schubert, Angelika Waller, Rudolf Koloc, Ruth Reinecke, Ulrich Engelmann, Svetlana Schönfeld, Wolfgang Rodler (R.I.P.) and others.
In the 2008/2009 season, he worked for a year at the Theater an der Rott in Eggenfelden under the then artistic director Brian Lausund.
From 2009 to 2013, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the neues theatre Halle, where he worked with Herbert Fritsch on Shakespeare's ‘MacBeth’, among others.
In 2013, he stopped allowing himself to be tied down. Since then, he has been active as an actor, director, author and producer in German-speaking countries and lives in Halle and Berlin.
Serious comedies and flat hierarchies as well as fair pay are firmly part of his way of working.
