At Shimmy, women, girls and boys aged 8 to 80 dance at all levels.

In 2012, Na'ama Arbel was able to inspire a small group of women from Halle with a new passion: oriental dance. At that time, Na'ama traveled from Berlin once a month to bring the rhythms and loose, powerful movements to Halle. When Na'ama moved to Halle in 2014, it was clear that the group could now take its weekly classes to another level. It was fortunate to find the perfect home for oriental dance in Halle in the beautiful Studio Universaale. Over the years, Shimmy has continued to grow. The one group has become twelve. Now a total of 80 women and girls between the ages of 8 and 80 dance, train, laugh and enjoy themselves together at Shimmy every week.

We love to share and show our passion for dance with others. That's why Shimmy organizes a wonderful summer party every year, where we dance and celebrate for and with our families and friends. We also travel to festivals and perform on various stages and festivals. Between 2017 and 2019, we have participated three times with large groups in the largest international belly dance festival in Eilat, visiting Israel, Jordan and the Sinai. Immersion Film produced the wonderful documentary “Shimmy, a story of dance” about these adventures as part of the “DiAlle Reise-Festival” in 2020.
